Handout CSR 2010 Corporate Social Responsibility in Tourism- Consumer demands and image of suppliers

The study is based on the TravelScope consumer panel in which a sample of 20.000 households is surveyed continuously concerning their travel behavior. Within the same sample, there have been additionally conducted a CSR-related target group profiling, as well as an analysis among the CSR-interested consumers concerning their behavior in terms of traveling.

The crisis is not over yet for the German Travel Market- GfK TravelScope presents its latest results on the German's travel behavior

Nuremberg, March 2010 – Despite the first indicators of economic recovery, the German consumers do not travel to the same degree as they did before. Up to present, they have intended 55.4 million trips less for the tourist season 2010 (November 2009 – October 2010) than for the precedent season. This means a decrease by 3.7 percent. For the forthcoming summer season, we can even predict a decline by 4.1 percent.
