The following categories are covered:

  • Stationery/office supplies in the strictest sense, i.e., everything that is necessary for school, studies and the desk at home
  • Ink cartridges for printers, toner and refills
  • Packaged fancy stationery, wrapping paper, gift boxes and ribbons
  • Table program (e.g., disposable tableware, dishes) and decorating items
  • Party and picnic items
  • Candles


Type of data collection

The panel participants are asked to answer the following questions:

  • What item was purchased? What was the name of the brand?
  • In which store was the product purchased?
  • What price was paid?
  • Was that a normal or a promotion price?


Along with the above information several product-specific features such as DIN (German standards) formats are surveyed. Also of interest are questions regarding purchase motivation, an aspect that only a consumer panel can cover:

  • Who is the main user of the item?
  • In what area is the item used?
  • Is more attention paid to quality, the manufacturer, or the price?


Reporting cycles

With the GfK consumer panel you receive valuable data for your marketing and advertising activities. Through the regular survey of consumers, expressive statements are made possible, for example, on the strength of brands, on buyer and user target groups, and on category management.
